To celebrate the New Orleans Tricentennial, the Color BLOC is hosting an exhibition from Saturday, April 7 until Sunday, May 6th. Representing a diverse network of over 350 artists, art professionals, and culture bearers working in various disciplines, The Rent Is Too Damn High! creates a platform for Black New Orleanians to use art, history, and culture to make meaning of the city’s tricentennial legacy and, ultimately, shape it. The disconnect between culture and businesses causes displacement: others can capitalize on the production of Black art and culture while many Black artists and culture-bearers cannot, and so The Rent Is Too Damn High!
